Technical Requirements for the Material and Shape

Stoneware Material

• Stoneware is a porous body.
• Stoneware is distinguishable by its colour, there
  are practically no limits to it's multitude of colours.
• The material is not transparent.
• The body thickness of the walls should lie between 4-6 mm.
• There should not be too much of a discrepancy
  in the thickness of the body.
• The shrinkage of the material averages approximately 5%.
• After the first firing, the body has a water absorption rate of 20%.
• It is fired "oxidised", meaning with excess air.

Forming

• There are three possibilities for forming/shaping:
• Casting - Pressing - Turning

Glaze/Decorating Possibilities

• The following decorating possibilities are possible:
  Dipping - Spray Glaze - Deep Printing - Underglaze Print/Screen Print
  
  
• Glazes Types:
  Effect Glazes - Mat as well as Glossy Glazes - Covering Glazes - Running Glaze
  
  For Glazing, please keep in mind the following:
• Firing temperature up until max. 1000 °C.
• Only lead-free materials can be used.
• The glaze should not "run" too strongly.
• The glaze is applied by dipping, with 2 or more colours, spray glazing is possible.
• It is fired "oxidised", meaning with excess air.
